Yesterday was Labor Day. We went to eat at my parent's house, which is in Williamsport. Bo loves riding in cars, so he enjoyed the ride over there. He even fell asleep and was dreaming! It was so cute because he makes little barking noises in his sleep. He even loves riding in cars so much that he jumped in the van when I was going in to town to buy some Diet Coke, so he went to the grocery store with me, too. He had such a great time at my parent's house. Roaming around the property, chasing cats, playing with the kids - he did it all. As you can see in the photo, his white fur was a little green from playing in the grass with the kids. My dad had just mowed the lawn.

Bath, vet, park, and more!

Bo is having a very exciting life here with us. We've already taken him to the park a few times and he loves it there. We usually go to Armstrong Park and there is a walking path that we like to walk on. Last time we went, the kids were fishing so Bo, Diego, and I took a walk and had a good time. Here is a photo of Diego and Bo on a rock. Bo is such a good dog - I didn't even hold the leash, he just sat there on the rock!

Bo has also had his first bath. He wasn't really that dirty, but I figured I should bathe him about once a month, so I did it on July 1st! He tried to get out a couple times, but I think he liked all the attention and the massage.
Since Bo had cherry eyes, I've been putting eye drops in since he had his surgery (about a week and a half before we got him.) He ran out so I went yesterday to the vet to get a refill. All in all, he has adjusted to life here in our house very well. He sleeps in his crate every night and isn't scared of it anymore. We are going to buy a doggie bed to replace the crate next week because we feel like we can trust him in the house now. Jose also repaired our fence so now Bo can't escape. There were some spots in our fence that he could get under and we were scared that he might get out and be hit by a car, so Jose fixed the spots. He can't get out now, so he's safe.

Bo is here!!

We picked up Bo yesterday at about noon from his foster home. We had a big day. We went to the Clinton County humane society first to fill out the information they need and to pay Bo's adoption fee. His foster mom was sad to see him go, but she knew he was coming to a good home, so I think that made her feel a little better.

When we got home, we took him for a walk because I wanted to see how he would act on a leash. He did great. It was really hot, so we didn't walk for long. When we came back in, we ate lunch, and we just let Bo walk around and explore. After lunch, we watched a movie with the kids while the baby took a nap and Bo just laid on the floor and napped, too. Sophia had gymnastics at 4:30, and I didn't want to leave Bo alone on the first day, so I just took him with us. Joshua and I walked him around outside while Sophia had gymnastics and then we went out to a horse farm to see one of my friends from high school. Bo was just perfect. He didn't chase the horses or anything. He was on a leash, but he didn't pull or anything, just stayed right beside me. He did have fun playing in a mud puddle, but we hosed him off before we got back in the van. He jumped right up in the van when we went to gymnastics and when we went back home from the horses. We were watching TV before bed and I was laying on the floor and he just laid right beside me. I put up the baby gate last night and he wined a little bit but I went back downstairs to check and he was curled up on the couch. I got up early this morning to let him out to go pee and he didn't want to come back inside, so he stayed outside for about an hour, just smelling around. He sat at the door when he wanted to come back in.

So I think he had a great day. He seems a little scared sometimes when the kids yell and scream, but I'm sure he'll get used to them soon. He didn't play fetch last night, but I think he was just worn out from his big day.

3 days to go . . .

This is a blog I'm making for our new dog, Bo. We are going to adopt him from the Clinton County Humane Society. He has been in a foster home for a while, and we are going to get him on Monday, so only 3 more days!! We are very excited to have this new addition to our family. We have already been shopping to buy our doggie essentials. We picked out a red collar and leash and we got food and a crate, and toys of course. Bo already knows how to play fetch, so a nice rubber ball was on our list. Bo is a beagle who is about 1 year old. He has a wonderful personality and we are really looking forward to welcoming him into our family. I know his foster mom is going to miss him, so I hope we can make him feel at home.
